In an announcement made today by Darwin Lord Mayor Graeme Sawyer and Chief Minister Paul Henderson, Bagot Oval will receive a much needed upgrade.

This is a joint initiative between Council and the Northern Territory Government, with majority of funds being provided by Council. It is great to see the two organisations banding together in investing in the future of football.

The upgrade will include:

  • New subgrade and turf for ovals
  • Excavation works
  • New irrigation system

Works should be completed by the end of the year, ready for the 2010 season.
