Football in Central Australia FICA inc. was incorporated on 1st July 2008.
Previously known as Southern Zone of the FFNT the FICA organisation is responsible for the management and development of football throughout Central Australia. Remaining under the umbrella of the Peak body FICA employs it’s own fulltime development officer funded through sponsorship agreements and player registrations.
The patron of FICA is Member for Lingiari and Minister for Defence Rt. Hon. Warren Snowdon. The principal sponsor is Yeperenye Shopping Centre. The accounting contract is with Ngurratjuta Accounting Services. The appointed auditor is Sue Lee and Associates.
FICA is made up of an Executive Board of 8 persons who constitute part of the Committee of the association. This is known as The Board. The Committee includes persons from Registered Clubs. The FICA logo embodies “The Spirit of Football”. Designed by Amoonguna artist Rosalie Riley the hand painted football was presented to “A” League team Adelaide United in September 2007as a goodwill gesture and to establish a grassroots relationship.
The FICA branding has allowed us to develop our own programs and secure long term partnerships with local sponsors. In the short time since incorporation FICA has received letters of recognition from FFA CEO Ben Buckley acknowledging the work we are doing to further the game in Central Australia, President of the Asian Football Confederation Mohamed Bin Hamman and previous Minister for Sport N.T. Kon Vatskalis.
