Information for Coaches
Coaching Courses 2010
Due to delays from Football Federation Australia all coaching courses are on hold. The new coach education material which will incorporate the National Curriculum is not quite complete. I expect that FFA will roll it out at the National Coaches Conference in March. Once I have the new coach education material I will advise all clubs about scheduling the new coaching courses. In the short term coaches can download the new Optus Small Sided Football hand book from the following web site, www.smallsidedfootball.com.au/pdfs/2010/handbook.pdf to gain insight into what will be required this year.FFA Coaching Courses
Community Coaching Certificates (Grassroots, Junior, Youth & Senior) are done through your State Federation ie FFNT. Football Federation Australia Advanced Coaching Certificates are done at National level through FFA's Coach Education Department. To be eligible for an advanced course you have to complete your Community Coaching Certificates.

New Coaching Structure from 2007
From January 1st, 2007, Coach Education in Australia will be conducted under a new framework. There will be TWO coach education pathways for aspiring coaches to choose from, the COMMUNITY PATHWAY or the ADVANCED PATHWAY.
This new system is a result of Australia’s acceptance as a member of AFC (The Asian Football Confederation) and our desire to offer high-performance Coach Education courses.
A, B and C Certificate courses will be offered in Australia from next year onwards, and will effectively replace FFA’s old ‘State’ and ‘National’ Licences.
These courses will be approved by AFC and will be conducted by FFA in Australia. (Advanced coaches will be pleased to note that AFC accreditation is recognised as equivalent by UEFA, Europe’s governing body.)
