MiniRoos in the Wet : All you need to know

MiniRoos in the wet is a 16 week program starting 16th October which is designed to provide an opportunity to play football all year round. MiniRoos in the Wet hopes to build on all participants enjoyment of playing football and love of the game by providing a fun, safe, inclusive, pressure free environment. What a great opportunity to make new friends and develop social skills, develop values of team work, co-operation, fair play, and respect for others. What a great way to keep all our future Socceroos and Matildas healthy by getting active all year round.
 

Season Information:

The season is going to be 16 weeks long with 2 parts: pre-Christmas and post-Christmas. Pre-Christmas season will commence Friday 16th October to  Friday 11th December comprising of  9 weeks. Post-Christmas season  dates are yet to be confirmed however we are proposingwill go from mid-February to end-March with another block of 7 weeks.
A half season registration is available if you only wish to play for one half only, but you must choose which block you play in, pre-Christmas or post-Christmas.

Playing Kit:

Teams are required to wear matching playing kits. Players may wear their existing club kit if they wish to do so. If there is clash in playing kit, the away team will be provided with bibs by MiniRoos Administrator.

What do players get?

Players who are registered for MiniRoos in the Wet will get following:
  • Stadium venue pitches under lights
  • Player insurance
  • All equipment provided
  • Game Leaders (if available)

MiniRoos in the Wet is short format football for MiniRoos with 5-a-side competition. MiniRoos in the Wet is divided into 3 different age categories:
  • Under 6 and 7
  • Under 8 and 9
  • Under 10 and 11
All games will be played at Darwin Football Stadium under lights. Game times are 6:00pm and 6:45pm. Please note these times may change dependent on the number of team registrations received.

The National MiniRoos Playing Format and Rules will be used, but the game times will be changed to 15-minute halves. More information about the MiniRoos Format and Rules can be found here:

Team registration for MiniRoos in the Wet:

All MiniRoos players must register to participate in the MiniRoos in the wet as this is a different competition than the dry season.

Players need to register to the club “FFNT Socials” in the correct package via Play Football registration platform via (http://bit.ly/MiniRoosFNT2020 ) . Should you wish to register a team into the competition you must complete the team nomination form.(download here). Team nomination form must be completed in full and each team must have a team manager. FNT will not process nomination forms if incomplete. Forms must be submitted by team manager before COB 8th October 2020 to admin@footballnt.com.au.

Registration fees for MiniRoos in the Wet (per player):

Football Northern Territory will be offering an Early Bird discount for the Full Season ONLY. Early bird discount is valid until COB 2nd October.

  • Under 6/7 :Early bird Discounted Price $128, Full Price $160
  • Under 8/9 :Early bird Discounted Price $128, Full Price $160
  • Under 10/11 :Early Bird Discounted Price $128, Full Price $160
  1. Half Season: (NO EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT)

Wet Weather Policy:

Games will only be cancelled due to severe weather (lightning or cyclone) and will be at the discretion of the FNT Staff. Games will be played in the rain. No refunds will be given for games cancelled due to weather.


What to Bring:

Players are advised to bring a cold full drink bottle, wear football boots and shin pads. Football boots and shin pads are compulsory for safety.

Additional Information

Basic first aid kit is available.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place at Darwin Football Stadium, drink station/taps are not available for for players to fill up their drink bottles.Please ensure you all adhere to COVID-19 guidelines.
