NTC Program

NTC Program

Football Federation Northern Territory's National Training Center(NTC) program aims to provide opportunity to the talented boys and girls within Northern territory to develop their skills and ability through a game related approach to training. This program is intended to prepare and identify the players from the NT who have the potential to be a future national squad member. In 2018 we are determined to provide more opportunities for the talented children in the NTC to represent the Northern Territory here, interstate and elsewhere.

This program is especially designed for boys and girls aged between 10 years to 16 years, where young players can be trained and prepared for games at the highest levels. This year the NTC have introduced an emerging program and 7/8 boys team.

The Academy is managed by Football Federation Northern Territory, which is lead by head NTC/SAP Coach John Tambouras, who has been in this field for a long period of time.

A new addition to the program this year are individual monthly player reports. They will be completed by coaches to provide players and parents an insight into the core skill development of each athlete.

This year in the NTC program, we had over (insert new figure) kids come in and trial. From those trials a total of 8 male teams and 3 female teams were selected to train in the NTC program under the guidance of some of the best coaches in the Northern Territory.
The teams are:

  • 7/8 Boys                      Coach: John Tambouras
  • Emerging group           Coach: George Singh
  • 9/10 Boys                     Coach: Daniel McCormick, Matty Byrd
  • 11 Boys                        Coach: Louis Buntin, Kassim Wright
  • 12 Boys                        Coach: Jade Embuscado, Rossi Tsounias
  • 13 Boys                        Coach: Andrew Savvas, Pouv Pich
  • 14 Boys                        Coach: Shaun Hodor, Peter Roditis
  • 16 Boys                        Coach: Angelo Theodorkopoulos, Michael Roditis
  • 9/10/11/12 Girls           Coach: Patricia Pereira
  • 13/14 Girls                   Coach: Dieter Mittermater, Rabea Baino
  • 16/17 Girls                   Coach: Alex Billeter, Verena Mac

Trainings commence at 5:45 and it is vital that all players have arrived at the venue by 5:30. It is important that all Players attend all training sessions when possible. If a player is unable to make it to training for any reason it is compulsory to contact the FFNT (admin@footballnt.com.au) or a coach directly. Training is located at Darwin Football Stadium.

FFNT is working closely with the clubs this year and want the clubs to get benefit from NTC program. Most players will be training 3 nights a week with the NTC and once with their football club in different competition divisions. They then play for their club on the weekend, which we believe is ideal in player development.

We will also be working with the NTIS this year. They will assist us with strength and conditioning, player recovery, injury prevention, player bio-metrics and coach education.

All players are given the opportunity to be selected and represent the Northern Territory at the National Titles in Coffs Harbour, Canberra and Tasmania. Where they will be tested against the most talented young footballers in Australia and will have the opportunity to impress scouts from around Australia.
