Our Board - Kevin Burton
Kevin was appointed to the FFNT Board for 2 years in May 2008. He joined the Board out of a desire to share his business skills with FFNT and contribute to the development of an organisation intent on re-positioning itself in terms of strategic direction and leadership.
To date Kevin has been a part of the team involved in the development of a draft Strategic Key Elements document and in the selection of FFNT’s new CEO.
Being an active coach Kevin is particularly interested in shaping educational development opportunities for coaches and in the consequent improvement of NT players at all levels.

B.Sc.(Econ). Honours Degree in Economic History, Swansea University, Wales
Industry Background
Kevin possesses general all round commercial management skills and has performed senior management roles in the areas of Supply Chain, Compliance, Marketing, and Sales. Kevin’s skill set is in high level negotiation, process improvement, market development, strategic thinking, analysis and an ability to manage alliances. The industries Kevin has specialised in are oil and gas, mining, chemicals, the financial services market, information technology and local government. The companies Kevin has worked for include BHP Billiton Iron Ore and Iluka Resources. Kevin has lived in Darwin for 3 years and moved here from Perth in 2006 to work for ConocoPhillips as Business Services Manager.
Sporting Background
Kevin is a self confessed ‘sporting tragic’ and suffers from being a fanatical West Ham and Perth Glory supporter. In football terms Kevin:

Played as a centre forward in the Welsh League, Swansea League, Southern Olympian League, Essex Intermediate League, WAASSA Premier and won a British Universities Intermediate Cup winners’ medal with Swansea University

Holds an FFA Advanced Accreditation ‘C’ License for football coaching

Held the position of Head Football Coach at the University of Western Australia in the Amateur Premier League for 5 years responsible for the First team and Reserves (2000-2005)

Was awarded Life Membership of UWA Football Club in 2005 for services to the club

Coached the Port Darwin Under 18 football team in 2008 and is the Under 19 coach for the 2009 season

Helps out as required with Port Darwin Juniors where his son and daughter play at Under 8 and Under 10 level
