Football Northern Territory (FNT) is saddened to learn of the passing of Uni
Azzurri FC player Remon Dolame (West Papua).
Remon, who was just 21, represented two clubs in Darwin, Palmerston FC (now
Palmerston Rovers FC) and the aforementioned Uni Azzurri.
Remon was a key player in the Uni Azzurri Premier League Reserves team that
took out the 2018 Premiership.
CEO of FNT, Bruce Stalder, said many people involved in football in Darwin are
today feeling the loss of such a lovely young person.
“Remon was a respectful and talented young player,” said Stalder. “ his tragic
passing has saddened all at Uni Azzurri and in the wider Darwin Football
Family.”
“There will be a moment of silence at Uni Azzurri’s first match in the Premier
League at the end of the month and both teams will wear black armbands to mark
Remon’s passing.
“The thoughts of the FNT Board and staff, all Darwin
players and coaches go out to those closest to Remon at this difficult time and
that is, his family and friends,” concluded Stalder.
There will also be a moment of silence held in honour of Remon prior to
tonight’s Super 7’s matches at Darwin Football Stadium.
